This is my first blog

Hello and welcome to my pregnancy blog. I am SO excited to finally get this up and running so that I can start writing down my feelings, and thoughts about this pregnancy.
The Lord has blessed Gregg and I with 2 identical twin girls. Yes!!! I am currently pregnant with identical twins. We are SO SO excited, and are so pleasantly humbled that he would allow us the opportunity to raise twins.

We actually have been praying for this moment for years. A little secret that you might not have known about us, but we have been praying for a few years for twins. We always thought what a blessing it would be to have twins, and here we are. Well of course you know that we want 4-7 kids, its just our hearts desire for a large family.
Now knowing that we are having identical twins let me answer some of the questions that you might be asking. (that are common to ask)
1. Are your babies identical or fraternal?
Our babies are identical.

2. Do they run in the family?
Actually only fraternal twins are hereditary. Identical twins are "a blessing from God" identical twins come from when the females 1 egg splits in half.

Fraternal twins are like I said hereditary but of course come from 2 eggs, which makes them "different". Also an interesting known fact is that fraternal twins do not come from the paternal side either, only from the maternal side of the family (the female)

But.... again our babies are identical (the 1 egg split) and so they have nothing to do with being in the family.

3. Were they conceived naturally??
The answer to that is OF COURSE! God chose to bless us, and we didn't need anything else than God. These girls are definitely our blessings.

We will definitely have our hands full as 2 babies at once are a handful. They are not like having 2 babies under the age of 2, or a one year old and newborn. NO they are 2 babies the same age and go through each stage together.

If you have any other questions just ask. As this is much easier to put for everyone to see than answer everyone's questions daily.

Yesterday I celebrated 17 weeks pregnant with my 2 blessings. This pregnancy so far has been wonderful well as being pregnant is concerned. Seeing my bronchitis/pnemonia that I had last month, I have not been sick hardly at all with my baby girls.
I did have sickness from weeks 5-7, but that went away fast, I think that the worst symptom that I have had so far is in the beginning (first 8 weeks) of pregnancy, my face broke out like pizza. Now I know why (because I was kicking double hormones.) But that is much better now.

The other thing since they are identical they "live" in the same sac. Which of course is a "high risk" pregnancy since more things can go wrong. They are "separated" by a membrane in that sac where they cant get to each other but they do share the same placenta. Which brings up ttts (twin to twin transfusion syndrome.) TTTS is when one of the babies takes more of the nutrients than the other (not on purpose), and a lot can go wrong when that happens. For this reason I am drinking extra protein 2x daily (carnation instant breakfast), to help get them more nutrients.
I am seeing a specialist doctor along with my OB, and am getting more ultrasounds to check for ttts, my next ultrasound is next Wednesday (March 10th), so you can pray that they will still be doing well in there mommy tummy and growing well.

Well that about sums everything up, the girls original due date was August 11th, but full term for twins is 36-37 weeks so that would be the middle of July. Lets just pray that they make it that far.
